Taking cues from their All Climate Gear approach, Nike launch the Chelsea 21/22 third shirt. The design is reflective of a modern era for the club, characterised by youthful energy and everything that represents.
Chelsea have already had a bold and expressive home shirt for the 21/22 season, and that was joined by the return of yellow on the away shirt. Now, inspired by Nike ACG, the third shirt drops, purpose built for European nights, and it drops on the day that the club will discover their Champions League group stage opponents.
As a club long associated with fashion, style and culture, Nike worked with individual Chelsea fans involved in the fashion industry to inform the third kit design. Through this, outerwear as a staple of London streetwear fashion became a theme of inspiration, injecting bold prints and colours such as those synonymous with Nike’s ACG brand, into the design.
The green and black has long been associated with statement Nike outerwear pieces, the crimson adds vibrancy and that pop of colour is reflective of the club’s youthful energy. The ‘Pride of London’ logo is also present on the inside of the jersey, serving as a reminder of the club’s values and status in the capital.
