Paying homage to the heroes that won the La Liga and Copa del Rey double in 1995/96 Nike launch the Atletico Madrid 21/22 away jersey, which features a paint design that follows on from the home shirt.
Following the drop of the home shirt, Nike launch the Atlético Madrid 21/22 away shirt, which again celebrates the 75th anniversary of the club’s current name – on 1 January 1947, Club Atlético-Aviación changed its name to Club Atlético de Madrid, and the rest is history. As part of that celebration, the away shirt pays homage to one of the most iconic Atlético de Madrid jerseys of the ‘90s.
The blue and crimson of the away shirt is a throwback to when Atlético won the he La Liga and Copa del Rey double in 1995/96, a feat inventively known as the “Double.” A v-neck features a hand drawn graphic, while a triton detail is included on the sock.
The kit was debuted in Atletico’s preseason friendly with Feyenoord, a match the La Liga champions lost 2-1.
