Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed further squad changes that will see a number of stalwart players leave the club ahead of the new 2021-22 DStv Premiership season, including veteran midfielder Willard Katsande.
It was a busy day at Naturena on Tuesday with the arrival of Keagan Dolly and Cole Alexander, as well as the renewal of the contracts of a number of star names, including Khama Billiat and Bernard Parker.
But there are also players who will be exiting, headlined by Katsande, who has spent the last decade at the club and was a massive part of their success during coach Stuart Baxter’s first spell with the team.
Zimbabwean Katsande is listed by Chiefs as the foreign player with the most appearances for the team, 326, one more than countryman Tinashe Nengomasha.
Also exiting is right-back Kgotso Moleko, who joined from Bloemfontein Celtic in 2012, and left-back Philani Zulu, who arrived from Maritzburg United four years ago.
The last of the players to be leaving is goalkeeper Brylon Petersen, who has been deemed surplus to requirements.
The AmaKhosi have also placed three players on the transfer list and will invite offers for them.
Zambia international forward Lazalous Kambole is available for loan or outright purchase, as are left-backs Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya and Yagan Sasman.
Chiefs have recently signed two players in the latter position in the form of Sifiso Hlanti and Sibusiso Mabiliso, and also have Happy Mashiane who can fill that role.
