Four changes for Lions ahead of Sharks clash

The Emirates Lions team made four changes ahead of their Rainbow Cup encounter against the Cell C Sharks on Saturday.

Tiaan Swanepoel, Sibusiso Sangweni, Stean Pienaar and Wilhelm van der Sluys were not considered due to injuries while Willem Alberts is still sideline with a calf injury. The Lions did not specify what the injuries were but Swanepoel was ruled out earlier in the week with an ankle injury.

Pienaar pulled a hamstring in training and was replaced by Rabs Maxwane while EW Viljoen slots in for Swanepoel at fullback.

Dan Kriel retains the captaincy while young prospect Jordan Hendrikse has been recalled from the SA under-20 Academy alignment camp and will be on the bench.

Burger Odendaal and Jaco Visagie are both back from injury and are on the bench.
